A friend and I have been trying to go on an outing for weeks, however the large amounts of snow and the lack of school days kept interrupting our adventuring. Finally, on this cold winter day, the kids had school and snow was not pouring from the heavens so we were able to strap on our snow boots and head out in search of a lighthouse. We found it, but the Coast Guard Base around it was closed and even though a young sailor let us in to take a picture what we happened upon next was even more awesome than the lighthouse.......

There is a 5 minute window some mornings where the sun makes beautiful music with the clouds.
I was lucky enough to catch it today. Getting ready for my 2nd annual Valentine's Day cookie exchange!
The decorations are up, the preparations have started. As many of you know, I am all about tradition. I LOVE traditions. Traditions are stability - even amidst our ever changing lifestyle. I may not have the same friends at my Valentine's cookie exchange each year, but from here on out I will always have a Valentine's cookie exchange. It is something to look forward to once the cold sets in and people start hibernating! Cookies are joy, love, happiness.....and a little something extra for the hips. ;) In full disclosure this picture was not taken Feb 1st. It was taken Jan 29th.
However I just love this shot and I didn't pull my camera out on the 1st - it was cold, snowy and drab outside. |
TrishHere I go again! Last year I learn SO much about photography while doing the 365, but there is so much more to learn! My ultimate goal was to learn to shoot in manual mode in which I succeeded. However I know I need to fine tune many, many aspects of my photography. Categories
