Something came up.
An opportunity of sorts.
I was able to help someone AND go to Hawaii with a girlfriend.
It doesn't get much better than that.
I got notice on Thursday to leave on Monday.
Hubby said go.
I added "for 2 weeks".
He said go.
I went.
We left Korea on Monday at 7PM. We arrived into Hawaii at 7:50AM - ON the same MONDAY

When you have spent (almost) 20 years as a military spouse you tend to have friends all over the world. One of my favorite people in the world picked us up at the airport, drove us all over the island, helped us stay awake and took us on a fun hike.

I loved sitting on the cliff watching and listening to he waves hit the rocks - and while I was doing just that something caught my eye - I switched the lens on my camera and this is what I saw:
WHALES baby WHALES!
How exciting is that?!
It is the little things (or rather big things in this instance) that gets me all kinds of excited!
I could have sat all day and watched the whales migrate.
When the girls were finally able to drag me away from whale watching we drove over to my favorite little plate lunch place on the island.

After lunch continued our trek around the island and we ran into a few locals:

And all I could think about was how good the Kahlua pork was that I just ate.
Wrong. I know.
After many hours we made it to our hotel. We were exhausted and jet lag was getting the best of us so we decided to lay on the beach and try to make it till dark.
When what to our wondering eyes should appear?
That's right....Asians in BIKINIS!!
Oh, and Santa.
The Asians in bikinis was more shocking to me though. :o)

After many hours we made it to our hotel. We were exhausted and jet lag was getting the best of us so we decided to lay on the beach and try to make it till dark.
