Thanks for all the blog comments, emails and words of encouragement.  I'm not sure how well Six in the Hood will stand up to Six in Seoul, but I will do my best.  Thanks for reading!

Peace Out Peninsula....

It has been 2.5 weeks since we left Korea.  I fully intended to continue writing about the things we did our last few days in Korea, but then on the flight from Seoul to Honolulu, I lost my camera.  I have looked and high and low, in every lost and found and it is gone.  I am heart broken.  I had some really great photos on that camera.  From Saturday night, when Tammy, Randy, Beth, Brent, Hubby& I went out....I have a few of those pictures burn into my memory - the one of Brent looking like a totally goofball with his hat on sideways, I think it was his 'gangsta' look.  The one of Randy at the Jazzy Story stalking the musicians ~ AGAIN...he was doing the 'full man chew' after writing a request to switch the music.  Oh, and I wish I had the picture of the 3 boys with the CASS beer ~ of course they all covered the 'C'!  There was also the upside down pictures from the cab.....and the pictures of the SIX of us after we piled into the cab(s) and pretended we didn't know what the cabbie was saying when he told us he could only take 4 of us!  What a great night! I will never be able to hear "Living in NY" without thinking of you guys!  Thanks for making out last Saturday night in Seoul our best Saturday night in Seoul!

Other pictures I lost were from going away parties for the kids.  Sunday brunch with the Amanda and Frank, Sunday night poker with the Parkers, neighborhood get togethers and pictures from the naked spa!  (Yes, I snuck my camera in!)

So, this is it....time for me to say good-bye.  Thanks to all of you out there for reading!  This blog started out as just another family blog,  a place where our family could keep up with us, and a place where other military families moving to Korea could come to gather information about their new home.  In the past 2 years I have had more fun writing this blog than I ever thought possible.  I remember the first time I got 200 hits in one day...I about fell out of my chair, and after that day the hits just kept growing...  I don't know why you people kept reading, I'm not a very good writer, I just write from my heart.  And then my last month in Korea Six in Seoul was nominated for 10 Magazine's top English blog in Korea - wow, what an honor!  All my readers rallied and named SIX IN SEOUL the BEST ENGLISH BLOG in Korea!!  What a way to go out....thank you all!!

I thought I would start a blog about living in Texas, but right now my heart isn't in it.  If I decide to write in the future, I will put a note here on Six in Seoul, but for now...

Peace out Peninsula.

Seoul Sisters

This is it, we are at the end.  The going away parties started on Friday and they still have not stopped.  However, they really aren't going away parties, they are just 'till we meet again' parties!  Once you have been a military family long enough you know you will run into people you know wherever you go. And as proof, we already have play dates set up for everyone once we arrive in Texas.

Friday night was a night out with the Seoul Sisters, we started our adventure at My Bed in  Iteawon....

We had a bit of miscommunication in the beginning; I guess my Konglish isn't as good as I thought.....however actor/owner Hong Suk-chun (Tony to me) came down in person to chat with me...

And this is when he made things all better and bought ALL my drinks for the rest of the night.
Did I mention that My Thai is my FAVORITE Thai restaurant in all of Korea?  It's true, I eat there often & the spicy beef salad ROCKS!

Here are a few pictures of the girls....

This picture is why I am wearing a scarf for the rest of the night. I didn't realize that if you wore a beige bra with a black shirt it would show up on film....oops, my bad.

This is when my sweet friends surprised me with an awesome bracelet!  It has the names of myself, Hubby and all the kids written in Hangul.  How fantastic is that?!  I absolutely LOVE IT!!  Thanks everyone!

After finishing up at My Bed, we headed down the street for a little more fun, this time, NoriBong style!

I need help!  I plan to start a new blog when I move to Texas, but I haven’t thought of a catchy name for it yet. Help by submitting blog names in the comment section.  Obviously the new blog won't be as exciting as Six in Seoul, but I'll do what I can.   If you have any ideas let me know!

Here are a couple of thoughts to start with ~

Remember how I told you Korean's were the masters of space manipulation?  Well, it is true, they did it.  They managed to put all our stuff in 7 crates AND they were in and out of our house in 8 hours!  No joke.

Kim's Car Wash in Iteawon

If you live on post and find yourself in need of a car wash, Kim's Car Wash is the place to go!  If you exit gate 52, (the Commissary gate) turn left, get in the right lane, pass the big Starbucks on the right, then the street with v off...go to the right: (right here:)
Picture
You will see Kim's Car Wash on your right hand side.  It looks like this:

They wash the outside and vacuum the inside.  The cost is 19,000 won for a normal size car & 25,000 won for a mini van.   It normally takes about 30 minutes to have your car cleaned, so I always walk down to Starbuck for a coffee while I wait.

Since moving here back in April 08, Boy 2 has worked every season for Commencer.  We have gotten to know the entire staff of this awesome company very well.  Last week Boy 2 did his last photo shoot for Commencer.  It was a very fun, but sad day.

Proud Army wife and mother to 4 wonderful children.  I love to cook, travel, work out and scrapbook life’s adventures when I find the time.  We just got orders & are heading back to the states in March 2010.  I'm bummed that our time has been cut short, but proud of Hubby for the reason why.
