Girls Day Out

Good mom or bad mom? You decide.  Yesterday I had a “to do” list about a mile long.  I worked about 1/4 of the way through my list, and decided I was done, so I hopped in the van, went to the elementary school and picked up my daughter.  Now I feel compelled to remind you that girl is in first grade, and she is a wonderful student.  I have been promising to take girl for a haircut and manicure for a few weeks now and something keeps coming up.  Today was that day.  She was so surprised when I picked her up from school early (without warning) that she ask if she had a dentist appointment.  J

She got a cute new hair cut, but for some reason the ladies at the salon we go to always feel the need to put her hair up.  She doesn't like this part of it, but she plays along.  Her manicure is adorable...pink with white and red hearts painted on her thumb and pinky just in time for Valentines Day.  After a bit of pampering we headed out to Iteawon to one of our favorite little restaurants, The Flying Pan Blue, where girl ordered hot chocolate and chocolate pancakes for lunch!  Girl was in heaven, with a grin from ear to ear all afternoon.  It was worth taking her out of school to see that smile.

GREAT mom! I say do it now, while they're little. As you know, it gets much harder when they're older. My Girl has been out sick this whole week and, even though I know she'll have makeup work coming out of her ears next week, it's been great to spend so much time with her. Funny, she hasn't been well enough to feel like doing the assignments her teachers have sent home, but she feels perfectly OK to play Mario Kart and watch Hairspray. Funny how that works! ;-)

Too cute! What a great Momma you are! I would love to do this, but my boys would never go for a manicure....

Simona...you never know, they just might be up for it if you are willing to take them out of school early!

Proud Army wife and mother to 4 wonderful children.  I love to cook, travel, work out and scrapbook life’s adventures when I find the time.  We just got orders & are heading back to the states in March 2010.  I'm bummed that our time has been cut short, but proud of Hubby for the reason why.
