On Oct 1st Hubby and I celebrated our 14 year wedding anniversary. Hubby went out this past week for on a recon mission; he had something planned for our anniversary and would not tell me what it was.  He and Boys 1 & 3 were gone for several hours researching something….making sure they could find it and all was good for our anniversary night.   Hubby always comes up with good ideas (better than my ideas, I must admit) so I wasn’t too worried about this. I really wanted to have dinner at Seoul Tower & I let him know this in advance, several times.

After many delays (more on that later) we hopped in a cab and head towards the Insadong area (not towards Seoul Tower). When we got out of the cab we were in front of a jewelry shop and I thought good thoughts to myself….alas, we did not stop.  We kept walking; we passed McDonalds…thank goodness, a couple of bars, and tons of street food vendors.  I ask Hubby if his recon mission was to find the perfect street vendor. Then I  told him my initial though when we got out of the cab, I mean come on we got out in front of a jewelry store what do you expect a girl to think? As it turns out a few minutes later we were on “jewelry row”, where, we actually popped into a jewelry store!!  I was totally shocked, honestly.  I had no idea what he had planned & thought at this moment he must be joking because I had just told him that was my initial thought.   One man behind the counter spoke English and welcomed my husband back.  Hubby had gone out on his recon mission to find a jewelry store where someone spoke English!  Not only did he do that, but he took the diamond out of his West Point ring and gave it to me to add to the ring we were about to make, you see, we met while he was in school at West Point.  After much SHOCK, and me just sitting there with a blank look on my face, not knowing what to do or say, Hubby uttered the words every woman wants to hear "BUY ANYTHING YOU WANT".  At that point, the jeweler started showing different items to me.  After looking at numerous rings, and not being happy with any one ring, the jeweler told me he could custom make a ring for me.

This is what I decided on....I liked the setting on the ring on the left, the 3 diamond cluster, but I liked the band on the right, it is hard to really see what it looks like in this photo.  I tweaked a few other parts of it and my ring should be ready on the 13th of October!  I will post pictures of it then!

I know, I know, I have the best husband in the world.  AND, I am not just saying this today, those who know me know I have utters these words MANY, MANY times in the before.

PS....I forgot all about eating at Seoul Tower.

You deserve to be spoiled!! I'm always very proud of my son, he did good! I love the settings you picked out, can't wait to see the real thing. (I have one that will need to be re-set someday, maybe next time I'm in Seoul). Glad you got the package, let me know what you think about the coffee.

Awwww...and I have definitely heard you say what a great Hubby he is. And you are so right - he's pretty wonderful. And very imaginative, too! Pretty awesome that he came up with that on his own! Can't wait to see the finished product. Happy Anniversary to both of you!

Proud Army wife and mother to 4 wonderful children.  I love to cook, travel, work out and scrapbook life’s adventures when I find the time.  We just got orders & are heading back to the states in March 2010.  I'm bummed that our time has been cut short, but proud of Hubby for the reason why.
