Independence Day

It seems only fitting that on a military post Independence Day should last the whole weekend.  This photo is from our party on Sunday.  We had a great time, with a live band (behind us in the photo) they set up right outside our fence as there was not enough room inside the in fence.  We had lots of friends and tons of good food.  Our house is in the perfect spot for this sort of thing, as the park is right outside our fence.  The kids played for hours in the heat and humidity & were dripping with sweat, but only came in to get a drink.  I think the adults had a good time as well, feasting, drinking, and listening to the music.  The only thing missing were the fireworks.  We looked for them, but it is next to impossible to buy them here in Korea.  So, all in all,  our first US holiday overseas was great! Sure we missed our traditional trip to Kansas for the 4th, but you do what you can and make the best of the situation you are in, and we did.  Happy Birthday America!

When we return to the states, I will make sure we have a band at our Easter party, however you must make the trip to where ever we will be living! :)

Proud Army wife and mother to 4 wonderful children.  I love to cook, travel, work out and scrapbook life’s adventures when I find the time.  We just got orders & are heading back to the states in March 2010.  I'm bummed that our time has been cut short, but proud of Hubby for the reason why.
