Oh baby I was not disappointed. This is a new favorite fruit in our house. Boy 2 says it taste like a big cherry! It is actually a cross between a plum and an apricot. The only downfall is we can't get them very often. I hope they are more readily available when we move back to the states.
What is a pluot you ask? Only the new love of my life. I saw these little beauties at the commissary a few weeks ago and a lady working there told me I should try them. She said they were very delicious, and sweet, and they sell out within hours of putting them on the shelf. That was it, I was sold. If you tell me everyone else wants one, I'm in! I mean, I don't want to feel left out or be the only one on this post that has never tried a pluot.

Never fear; you can get them here! Bon Appetit had a couple of pluot recipes in the July issue and Gourmet had one in the September issue. Yum!

AuthorProud Army wife and mother to 4 wonderful children. I love to cook, travel, work out and scrapbook life’s adventures when I find the time. We just got orders & are heading back to the states in March 2010. I'm bummed that our time has been cut short, but proud of Hubby for the reason why. Archives
