On Sunday we went here http://grandpark.seoul.go.kr/Eng/html/main.jsp
The picture below cracked me up when I looked at it. It was taken right after we got off the subway heading towards the entrance of Seoul Grand Park. This is so typical of my kids. They cannot stand the sun in their eyes, but will not wear sunglasses either.
We ate our way up the path to Seoul Grand Park. One of the favorites of my children is fruit on a stick, and I am more than happy to pay 1,000 won (equivalent to 1 USD) per piece of fruit on a stick for them to eat....at least it isn't candy. In this picture Boy 2 is eating pineapple, and Boy 3 is trying to take it from him.....
For those of you that did not click on the link, Seoul Grand Park is a zoo. From the subway it is about a 15-20 minute walk. We didn't bring a stroller, so we rode the thing in the sky, you know, the thing you ride on when you go skiing and it drops you off at the top of the mountain? What is that called? I can’t remember. Anyway, all the kids loved ridding, except Boy 1, yes, I said Boy 1, the oldest, was a little freaked out ridding it. (He will kill me for telling you that) It was kind of cute, he was really afraid Boy 3 would fall out and kept checking on him – Boy 3 was riding with Hubby and Boy 2, they were behind myself, Boy 1 and girl.
We had a great time at the zoo, this is another place we will put on our list of places to take visitors, especially if you have children. They have many of the same animals we have in the states, but they have more open spaces where you can play and have picnics. There is also a stream that goes through the zoo where children and adults alike wade in the water and play
This is one of the slides in the kids park area.
Another slide the kids loved playing on.
All in all, this was a great day for everyone. The kids really enjoyed themselves, and it is really cheap! To get into the zoo, it cost about 12 USD for all six of us. I just don’t understand Korea, things you think should be expensive are really cheap, and things you think should be cheap are expensive. Who knows…go figure.
