Seoul Grand Park with Driving Directions & BUGS

I am officially 5 days behind on this blog...let's see if I can catch up, speed racer style...

Friday - we headed out to Seoul Grand Park (SGP).  I have always taken the subway to get to SGP, but this time I took a chance and drove.  It paid off!  It was super easy to get there.  Exit post through the commissary gate, take a right - go over the Bampo Bridge, continue straight.  Go through  a HUGE intersection - after the intersection the street spits 3 ways, go STRAIGHT.  Go through the tunnel...after the tunnel you will see your first sign to SGP, then there will be a toll booth...you pay 2,000 won here - get in the right hand lane and follow the signs...you will be exiting to the right, then it is a straight shot - go until you hit the parking lots, you cannot miss it.

SGP was a quite a fun day.  When we arrived we realized it was a very sunny day, and I did not bring hats for anyone, so we bought a few beauties...K's hat was especially nice....

You can't really tell the absolute beauty of the hats in this picture so let me help you.  Boy 2's hat has glitter all over it....very pretty.  Girl's hat is OK, just a bit big.  It says SEVEN on it, she picked it because she is 7, I'm just hoping it does not have some underlying message.  Boy 3's hat is too small for his big head and it is yellow with baby blue writing on it that says 'Daddy's Boy'.  He wanted the pink one, but I told him yellow was Daddy's favorite color so he better go with that.  And K's hat....we call that an "ah-ge-ma" hat, or in English, and old lady hat.  Hey, but check out that shadow it cast....at least she doesn't need to worry about the sun getting to her.

So, I do have to give it up to our local ahgema, look what K tried, and I must add, she is the only guest we have ever had that has tried these....

Oh yummy....the sheer delight of bugs between your teeth!!

If the show 'Fear Factor' were still around, I'd totally sign her up!

She said the meal worm larvae tastes like crawfish, however she opted out when I offered to buy her a cup full of them.

So, my speed racer technique did not work.....It is time for me to get ready, I need to run to the store to buy sandwich stuff so we can have a 'power shopping' day. It's only 7AM here - I have to get to the commissary, come home, wake everyone, feed them breakfast, make lunches and hustle everyone out the door no later than 9AM, then we are off to Osan for MORE purses and then on to Yeoju for pottery shopping (thank goodness I already took my shower)......when my sisters leave, I am going to need a vacation.

Until tomorrow - peace out....

Proud Army wife and mother to 4 wonderful children.  I love to cook, travel, work out and scrapbook life’s adventures when I find the time.  We just got orders & are heading back to the states in March 2010.  I'm bummed that our time has been cut short, but proud of Hubby for the reason why.
