Sushi and Hancock

We should have listened to our first instinct.  Leave, head for the door, do not stop - run.  We didn’t listen, we stayed and ordered Sushi. Why, we don’t know, but we did it anyway.  The 1st clue was the picture above, the 2nd, you didn’t get to pick your sushi, and they only serve a “combination” platter.  I guess the “good” in it is that we did have “serve yourself free soda refills”, that is something, right?  Anyway back to the sushi, we got the 10 combo piece and a combo roll.  Well, upon my first bite, yes, I still took a bite, I noticed the salmon was warm, I then noticed the fire starting in my mouth.  They must have put a HUGE ball of wasabi under that warm piece of sushi.  Thank goodness for the free soda refills.  Next we checked out the sushi roll.  Are you ready for this…you are going to crack up, the inside of the roll looked normal, however on the top of the roll, they had, get this……a slice of American cheese, some pasta sauce (from the jar I am sure) and parmesan cheese.  It was Italian style.  We left.

After our wonderful dinner experience, we headed over to see the movie Hancock.  I don’t think I have mentioned this, but the movies here on Yongsan are free.  One of our little perks; this is not the case at every post movie theater.  This is only the 2nd military post I have lived at where the movies are free.  Nice perk, I love it.   So we saw Hancock, I had no idea what the movie was about; I was just going along for the ride.  You all MUST go see this movie.  I laughed SO HARD I thought I might wet myself, everyone in the movie theater was laughing out loud.  I would write more, but I don’t want to give anything away in case you are like me and have no idea what this movie is about. Just go see it!

PS...I had a SNICKERS bar at the movies, and I am not sick today.  Thank you God.

OK, that is totally disgusting. Yeah, I think a sushi menu in English is probably a bit of a warning sign. That's something where you want to get the "authentic" stuff from the people that know how to make it. Italian sushi sounds pretty terrifying. I'm glad you left before you had to try to Mexican or German versions. (shudder)
I'm VERY glad (and a little surprised) to hear that you didn't get sick.

Free movies? VERY cool. We've read some pretty good reviews of Hancock - we'll have to go see it. Hard to get a night out without kids, so we've only been seeing the kid-friendly ones: Wall-E and Indiana Jones, etc. I haven't even seen SATC yet, and Hubby even said that he would go with me! Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, it's off to paint the deck we go....

Proud Army wife and mother to 4 wonderful children.  I love to cook, travel, work out and scrapbook life’s adventures when I find the time.  We just got orders & are heading back to the states in March 2010.  I'm bummed that our time has been cut short, but proud of Hubby for the reason why.
