Sometimes things just work out in a weird way. Yesterday I finished posting about our trip to the Philippines where we rang in 2014. If you have been following me for a while you know that on New Year's Eve we ring in the New Year with a day of fondue. This year since we were traveling we missed our tradition - however I promised the kids we would still do it once we returned. I did not plan to coordinate the two blog post, but now that it happened this way it seemed fitting. Last night we celebrated the New Year with fondue and friends! And look....I still have our Christmas cards up. I just can't bring myself to take them down.
Happy New Year! On February 11th on Facebook I posted a picture of a map titled "A Texan's Map of the United States" and I wrote two words to accompany the photo. "Missing Home". This week I was talking to friend about how I miss HEB (& their tortillas), Whole Foods, Rosa's Tortilla Factory & Tex-Mex in general. I've had dreams of Chick-Fil-A. Today I heard the song "Come Back to Texas" by Bowling for Soup on the ONE radio station we have here. (There are more, but I only listen to AFN.) Today I received this package in the mail and the beginning of the note started off: "Trish, I saw you were missing Texas. Here are a few goodies to give ya'll that southern feeling." OH MY GOSH!! I LOVE MY FRIENDS!! All things to make me miss home even more!! Check it out HEB tortillas!! My Favorite tortilla chips EVER. Texas crackers, shut the front door! Dr. Pepper, Jack Daniels! Rudy's Rub. WHATABURGER FRIES?!?! Oh baby I miss home. This is awesome! Thank you so much my dear sweet friend. YOU ROCK. Just in case you haven't heard Come Back to Texas by Bowling for Soup here is a link to it. It's so horrible, but so fun! I've been singing it all day! Enough produce to feed a family of 6 for about 5 days.
If we are lucky. I can't wait to be in a CSA again. A typical gas station in Korea.
(Can you see the pumps hanging from the sky?) All gas stations are full service. Gas in Seoul runs about 2,000 won per LITER. That totals about 7,400 won per gallon which totals about $7 USD per gallon. Thank goodness I can get gas on post at the state side rate. The rolling ball museum is a great place to practice things in motion!
Manual shooting is becoming more natural to me by the day, but today I struggled with things in motion. Practice makes perfect right? Someday. I was going for the 'moving ball' look, but I should have brought a tripod. |
Project 365
Am I insane? Have I lost my mind? After thinking long and hard about it (OK, really I only thought about it for about 12 hours) I just committed to doing a photo a day for a year - a 365 'they' call it. This is going to be SUPER HARD for me. Not the photo part, but the editing part. I mean you guys KNOW how far behind I am. A photo a day - that doesn't sound like much, but in reality, who are we kidding? Anyway I'm going to TRY to post each day, but there will be times I might be MIA for a couple of days, just bear with me and I will catch up. Archives
