Day 31 - It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas Through a Mom's Teary Eyes.....

That day has come - our baby that used to sit on his Daddy's shoulders to put the angel on the tree is now doing it on his own for quite possibly the last time while living under our roof.

This wasn't his year to put the angel on the tree, but all his siblings agreed (without mentioning it to me until the decision was made) that he should do it this year. (I have a lump in my throat as I type this.)

Day 28 - Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our family and friends around the world.  As you guys in the states are just now waking up, we are putting our comfy pants on and going for round 3 of desserts.

Even though we are far from home our hearts are with you all and our table was filled with memories from Thanksgivings past. From Mom's stuffing and giblet gravy to MIL's stuffed celery to Grandma W's green bean casserole (don't freak out, I didn't make it!). Thanks for all the love and support you have given us over the years.

Day 27 - Thanksgiving Eve Tradition

11/27/2013

Twas the night before Thanksgiving and all through the house everyone was waiting for Boy 2 to stick his finger in a pie!
When he ask early in the day (with a twinkle in his eye) if the pies were all done I KNEW he remembered.
He picked the coconut meringue pie, a pie new to the line up this year.  Mom always made coconut meringue but I never really like them.  Now I eat coconut and drink coconut drinks all the time so I thought "What the heck - I should try a coconut meringue!"  TOTALLY GOOD.  Everyone but Boy 3 gobbled it down.

Another Thanksgiving tradition in our house.....see the vase with stick in it?  See the hand cut leaves on the table?  Those are the makings for our Thankful Tree.  You write what you are thankful for on the leaves and stick them to the tree using scotch tape.  Fun and easy and so much less stressful for those that are too shy or those that get too emotional to share at your Thanksgiving table.

    Click It Up A Notch

    Project 365

Am I insane?  Have I lost my mind?  After thinking long and hard about it (OK, really I only thought about it for about 12 hours) I just committed to doing a photo a day for a year - a 365 'they' call it.  This is going to be SUPER HARD for me. Not the photo part, but the editing part. I mean you guys KNOW how far behind I am.  A photo a day - that doesn't sound like much, but in reality, who are we kidding?  Anyway  I'm going to TRY to post each day, but there will be times I might be MIA for a couple of days, just bear with me and I will catch up.

One of my goals throughout this 365 is to be able to shoot anything I want to in manual. The next is to have fun capturing this next crazy year of our life. In the next 365 you will see: at least 2 more countries, a HS graduation, an international move to most likely 2 different states, the heartbreak of a mom as she sends her first born off to college and so much more....

Please make sure you cheer me on after all I am a "Words of Affirmation" girl. :o)
