I'm so glad they had some 'quality' time together.
Boy 3 was SO EXCITED and couldn't wait to have his friends over when we returned home from vacation.

This is the way we roll....
1 bag per person. You can only take what you can carry on your back. Hints on where we are going. We need passports...(you already know that) We need flip flops We need sunscreen We need bug repellant We went to the "preventative meds" doctors office and got drugs 'just in case' We will be gone 10 days and will move 5 times One hotel does not have electricity during the day - they only turn it on from 8PM-6AM. Check back on Christmas day for our 1st picture... If you have never tried my (OK, really they are my friend Tracey's - I just measured things out for you) pork carnitas you should. Here is the link to them: Pork Carnitas.
I did make them gluten free by swapping the beer to Chicken broth and making sure I used gluten free chipoltes (Goya brand) and serving on corn tortillas and lettuce wraps. (Not pictured) Twas the night before Thanksgiving and all through the house everyone was waiting for Boy 2 to stick his finger in a pie! When he ask early in the day (with a twinkle in his eye) if the pies were all done I KNEW he remembered. He picked the coconut meringue pie, a pie new to the line up this year. Mom always made coconut meringue but I never really like them. Now I eat coconut and drink coconut drinks all the time so I thought "What the heck - I should try a coconut meringue!" TOTALLY GOOD. Everyone but Boy 3 gobbled it down. Another Thanksgiving tradition in our house.....see the vase with stick in it? See the hand cut leaves on the table? Those are the makings for our Thankful Tree. You write what you are thankful for on the leaves and stick them to the tree using scotch tape. Fun and easy and so much less stressful for those that are too shy or those that get too emotional to share at your Thanksgiving table. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Today you were supposed to get a beautiful shot from the lantern festival.
Too bad my allergies have kicked my bootie and the only thing I felt like doing was laying on the couch and watching TV. So instead you get a picture of mushrooms and Japaneses eggplant. Seriously. This was dinner last night. And guess what?? It was a HUGE FLOP! They ate it, but they ask me not to make it again - EVER. Chicken and mushroom soup is off the menu FOREVER. Once again I had a hard time choosing which picture to use today so I ask my kids to vote. Each child picked a different picture as their #1 favorite, one of them picked this one as their #1, and the others picked this one as their #2.
Since this one had the most votes we went with it. This picture is unedited. I deliver it to you EXACTLY how I took it. (OK, I added the watermark, but that's it.) The fall leaves are truly this vibrant in Seoul. Wednesday is piano lesson day in our house. Ms. F is constantly telling Boy 2 - 'curved fingers'. She even writes notes on his homework - 'curved fingers'. Many times during lessons she 'curves' his fingers for him. I'm so glad I captured this - even though she told me 'no pictures'. And yes, there are 2 pictures for Day 6.
I just couldn't resist. A basket overflowing with happiness.
Yeah right. Some people say I will miss this when they are all grown and gone. I don't think so. I'll get back to you in 10 years. Ahhhh Mondays...... Today I'm sick. Fever, chills, sore throat, stuffy head, headache & body aches. Luckily I have friends, tea and the Blue House to help me out. When you are military you find that your friends are your family. You do things for each other without question. You babysit for each other, you vent to each other, you celebrate with each other, and you care for each other when you are sick. When a friend heard I was sick she offered up chicken soup and gave me citron tea. She told me to drink it - it is a fix all. Being the good patient I am I made myself a cup of citron tea in this very cool tea set given to us by the former President of Korea, Lee Myung-bak. The building on the tea cup is The Blue House (like our White House), and the crane on the cup symbolizes longevity, spirituality and nobility. Here's to hoping all of these things work and I feel better tomorrow.

Project 365
Am I insane? Have I lost my mind? After thinking long and hard about it (OK, really I only thought about it for about 12 hours) I just committed to doing a photo a day for a year - a 365 'they' call it. This is going to be SUPER HARD for me. Not the photo part, but the editing part. I mean you guys KNOW how far behind I am. A photo a day - that doesn't sound like much, but in reality, who are we kidding? Anyway I'm going to TRY to post each day, but there will be times I might be MIA for a couple of days, just bear with me and I will catch up. Archives
