Day 161

On Tuesday April  8th I got 'that' call.
You know, the one you can NEVER be prepared for.
I was on the elevator at Asan Medical Center when my niece Stacy called me.
I knew instantly from the tone of her voice it was something major.
My sister was just diagnosed with Stage 4 Terminal Cancer.
The diagnosis had changed.
Duodenum Cancer plus she has Acities - the cancer has spread to the lining of her body.
The next couple of days were a blur as I tried to function at home.
Hubby booked a flight and was sending me to Texas to spend the next 2 weeks with my sister.

This picture is of of the kids making a card for their Aunt.

I know she loved having you with her and I know how hard it must have been to leave. I have lost many in my family from cancer so I am justified in saying I HATE CANCER!

    Project 365

Am I insane?  Have I lost my mind?  After thinking long and hard about it (OK, really I only thought about it for about 12 hours) I just committed to doing a photo a day for a year - a 365 'they' call it.  This is going to be SUPER HARD for me. Not the photo part, but the editing part. I mean you guys KNOW how far behind I am.  A photo a day - that doesn't sound like much, but in reality, who are we kidding?  Anyway  I'm going to TRY to post each day, but there will be times I might be MIA for a couple of days, just bear with me and I will catch up.

One of my goals throughout this 365 is to be able to shoot anything I want to in manual. The next is to have fun capturing this next crazy year of our life. In the next 365 you will see: at least 2 more countries, a HS graduation, an international move to most likely 2 different states, the heartbreak of a mom as she sends her first born off to college and so much more....

Please make sure you cheer me on after all I am a "Words of Affirmation" girl. :o)
