The sinking of the MV Sewol, 세월호 침몰 사고 happened on 16 April, 2014. The MV Sewol was in route from Incheon towards Jeju when the ferry carrying 476 people sunk. Most of those that perished were high school students heading to Jeju on a school trip.
The entire country has been in mourning every since.
