Day 70 - Why Do You Mock Me?

1/9/2014

These are my new kicks....I love these shoes.  I started running in Brooks last year and my running time and distance improved by leaps and bounds.  My old Brooks are retired.  They were getting old and tired. It was time.
I told these shoes I was going to run 730 miles in 2014.
However...
They have only gone 6 miles this year.
They are not happy.
They wait for me everyday to break them in.
But I always have an excuse.
It wasn't safe in the Philippines, I had too much to do after vacation, the kids got sick....

Hummm......maybe tomorrow?

I *LOVE* Brooks! That's all I run in, too! They are the BEST! Make sure those to tell those cute new kicks, though, that they will only be with you until summertime. You shouldn't go much over 300 miles before replacing them. If you really like those, I'd go ahead and order another pair, so you have them waiting. I always have a pair that I'm using, a pair that is waiting to be next, and then I save the old "still good, but not for running" pairs for either weight training class or core class or to run a mud run or trail race (like Tough Mudder) where I know they will be ruined at the end. You know you're a true running geek when you know, at any point in time, exactly how many miles are on your shoes - lol.

I love Brooks too. I don't know why but I tried to switch to Merrell and it didn't work out for me.
I wasn't sure how far you are supposed to run in shoes, I do know that around the 400 marker in my old Brooks I felt like I needed new shoes. Thanks for giving me a number! Saturday I'm going on a long run. I'm going to break those babies in.

You have time! There will be warmer weather and days where you will run longer stretches to catch up to the days you couldn't. I have an injury and have only ran 2 miles since the new year, I usually run three days a week and cross train three other days (I'm cross training, but not running as much).

And, I bought Brooks this summer for the first time...loving them!

You are right, but I don't want to get behind...although I'm not doing much about it right now. Saturday. Saturday I'm going for a long run. I just hope it isn't below 20 degrees..... ;)
I'm such a wimp!

    Project 365

Am I insane?  Have I lost my mind?  After thinking long and hard about it (OK, really I only thought about it for about 12 hours) I just committed to doing a photo a day for a year - a 365 'they' call it.  This is going to be SUPER HARD for me. Not the photo part, but the editing part. I mean you guys KNOW how far behind I am.  A photo a day - that doesn't sound like much, but in reality, who are we kidding?  Anyway  I'm going to TRY to post each day, but there will be times I might be MIA for a couple of days, just bear with me and I will catch up.

One of my goals throughout this 365 is to be able to shoot anything I want to in manual. The next is to have fun capturing this next crazy year of our life. In the next 365 you will see: at least 2 more countries, a HS graduation, an international move to most likely 2 different states, the heartbreak of a mom as she sends her first born off to college and so much more....

Please make sure you cheer me on after all I am a "Words of Affirmation" girl. :o)
