Day 9  ~ Mom, I'm Sorry.

I apologize in advance.
If you have small children in the room you probably don't want to scroll down.
If your Grandma is in the room you probably don't want to scroll down.
Heck if your mom is in the room you probably don't want to scroll down.

I don't know why Korea (OK...not just Korea, it's Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and I'm sure a few other Asian countries too) has such a fascination with the penis.

Yes, I said the penis.

They have penis shot glasses, penis salt and pepper shakers, penis statues and penis parks.
YES I said parks as in plural.
Really, click that link.  You will see.

Any-who...this weekend we headed out of town and what did we see driving down the street at 60MPH?  That's right, a penis statue shop.  I'm guessing you buy these for your front yard?  We didn't stop as we were whizzing by (no pun intended, but I sure cracked myself up!) and I didn't notice just how many penises, peni?  What is the plural of Penis????  (
And who knew I would ever need to know?)  Anyway, I didn't notice how many were in this picture until I downloaded it!!  Check out the parking lot.....they are BUSY!!

And yes, they have faces.
Holy penis.

Yes. You'll find them in many places around Korea. If you want to see many any one place, drive to the east coast and visit Haesindang Park. We took a road trip there a few years ago and had so much fun!

Kelly - If the kids had not been with us I would have made Hubby turn the car around! I can only imagine what else was in that place of 'fun'!

I've seen so many statues with faces that I'm beginning to wonder about a possible difference in Asian anatomy...?

Ahhh Korea, so conservative in some ways and in others just blatantly out there. I did have an older Ajumma who ran a store that carried them tell me it's for fertility, that having one in my garden would ensure many beautiful healthy children and a happy satisfied husband. LOL

    Project 365

Am I insane?  Have I lost my mind?  After thinking long and hard about it (OK, really I only thought about it for about 12 hours) I just committed to doing a photo a day for a year - a 365 'they' call it.  This is going to be SUPER HARD for me. Not the photo part, but the editing part. I mean you guys KNOW how far behind I am.  A photo a day - that doesn't sound like much, but in reality, who are we kidding?  Anyway  I'm going to TRY to post each day, but there will be times I might be MIA for a couple of days, just bear with me and I will catch up.

One of my goals throughout this 365 is to be able to shoot anything I want to in manual. The next is to have fun capturing this next crazy year of our life. In the next 365 you will see: at least 2 more countries, a HS graduation, an international move to most likely 2 different states, the heartbreak of a mom as she sends her first born off to college and so much more....

Please make sure you cheer me on after all I am a "Words of Affirmation" girl. :o)
