Jyoti Restaurant - Indian Food

12/22/2013

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE this restaurant.
Boy 1 found it first and told us we needed to go - he said it was the BEST Indian food he had ever eaten.
We didn't really listen to him because well, this is the only Indian food he has ever eaten.
Then one day I was on Tripadvisor and ran across it.  It was listed as the #1 Indian restaurant in Seoul.  I thought to myself - 'WHAT?! Is our boy onto something?' And we planned our first date there....then our 2nd, then out 3rd and so on. It is our FAVORITE Indian Restaurant in Seoul, hands down.
The food is great, the prices are good, the service is wonderful and the chef comes out and chats with you when he has time.

First thing they bring out Papadum an Indian cracker bread of sorts.  I like it dipped in the green sauce - raita - I don't think you are supposed to dip it in the green sauce, but really I love the green sauce and have been known to eat it by the spoonful.
Picture
Their tandoori chicken is the bomb.  It is so moist and juicy - then slather it with raita (green sauce) and man oh man...
Picture
We have had many, many dishes here.  All of which are fabulous.  The chicken tikki masala is my favorite and their mutton ROCKS.  The vindaloo dishes require the yogurt on the side because you will be ON FIRE.  Rogan Josh is fantastic...really everything has been exceptional!
Picture
I'm writing this at 9AM and my mouth is watering.  If they were open I would happily go for breakfast.
Picture
Don't get me started on the naan....the butter garlic naan....
oh baby.
I love food.
Good food.
Picture
Picture
This last time we went the chef showered us with a few goodies....extra naan...he was trying out a cheese naan.  It was good, but garlic butter naan is and always will be my favorite.  At the end of our meal he brought us dessert.  Brown balls in a yogurt sauce.  I have no idea what they are really called, but this dessert was delicious!  The brown balls were super sweet, but the sweetness was offset by the tartness of the yogurt sauce. I could have easily eaten two.

So if you are looking for good and not overpriced Indian food in Seoul head on over to Jyoti (<--click the link) and you won't be disappointed.

To get there:

Aloha Table & The Shower Bar  - Date Night in Hongdae

9/21/2013

Date night in Korea is never dull.
There is always something new out there just waiting for you.
This week was no different.
We had been dreaming of Hawaii, so why not find a little Hawaii in Seoul?
Picture
OK, so there was no beach, but this quaint restaurant in Hongdae made me feel like I was in Hawaii for a split second - especially when our pitcher of Mai-Thai's arrived!
Picture
Then I was taken right back to Seoul when I checked out the menu.
Pasta & Pho?
What the what, what?!?
Picture
Once the edamame arrived I was taken right back to the table at Dukes where Hubby and I had one of our first meals in Hawaii with this CRAZY good garlic edamame.

Edamame, Mai Thai's, the love of my life....the only thing that could have made it better was to have a little sand under my toes and a nice ocean breeze...  OK, maybe being IN Hawaii would have made it better.
Picture
We ended up ordering the set menu.
The first course was unlimited edamame & french fries.  ??
Unfortunately you are only allowed the plain edamame with the set meal, even if you are willing to pay extra for the garlic.
Picture
Next up was this sweet set.....
A little odd, but tasty.
Picture
But the main course was WONDERFUL.
There were BBQ ribs, soy garlic chicken & rib eye steak.
 All were equally delicious.
And the corn.
That wasn't Korean style corn on the cob, that was TRUE corn on the cob.
YUM - O!
My mouth is watering and is not even 7AM yet!
Picture
You won't be able to get out of this restaurant for less than 30,000 won per person.
I'm trying to find the directions on how to get there (because my memory sucks), but for now I will just leave you with their information:
  364-14, Seogyo-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul
02-324-7718
www.alohatable.co.kr/waikiki/

After stuffing our faces at Aloha Table our friends wanted to take us to this fun bar they found. I'm sorry, I cannot give you the name or directions as I was not paying attention at this point.  But if you see this girl, you know you are here.
Picture
Somewhat of a dive bar.
Cheese puffs are the snack of choice & I ordered this groovy blue drink.
Yes, I ordered it because it was blue.
No, it was not very good, but it went well with cheese puffs.....
Picture
....and the stream that went through the bar.
Picture
Somehow we accidently ordered this delicious concoction.
Spicy chicken, onions and cheese.
HOLY GOODNESS.
Even though I was full, this was THE BOMB!
I would totally go back and order this.
If I could ever find the place again.
Picture
They came over and made rice balls for us to cut down the spicy....
Picture
I'm not sure what I liked more about this bar.....
The stream, the rubber duckies, the cheese puffs, the blue drink or the shower.
That's right.
A shower in the middle of the bar.
Apparently drinking games begin a little later in the night and the loser ends up in the shower - with clothes on.
Picture
Seoul...what's not to love?

Date Night Fun Continued, Sinsa Shopping & Beer Storage

7/10/2013

Sinsa Subway station is located in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
As I have stated before this is one of my favorite areas in Seoul so far.
Not too touristy, totally eclectic and loads of fun.
After stuffing our faces over at Pier 17 we headed out to see what else was happening on Garosu-gil street when we happened upon this awesome store.
I think I will bring Boy 1 here to shop for school clothes:
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
The worker girl (who followed us around the ENTIRE time - that's the way they roll in Korea, they want to be there to help if you have any questions or need anything) was wearing a shirt that says "I'm cute".
Isn't that cute?!
Picture
Picture
Everything in this store was a little spendy, so I was surprised to see this box of emergency underpants dispenser for sale.  Although I'm not really sure why anything surprises me here anymore.....
Picture
Need a teapot and teapot mask warmer?
No worries, they only cost 290,000 won, or a mere 261 USD.
I bought a few for Christmas gifts.
Picture
After a little shopping our exploration took us to this quaint little "Beer Storage" place.  I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly where it is, but if you find it you should totally go in.
Picture
It is kind of like a 7-11 with indoor tables for drinking your beer.
You can get practically any type of beer you want and for Seoul it was pretty darn cheap!  Beers started at 2,500 won and went up from there.    You walk in, go to the self-service beer cooler, pick your own beer, grab a glass if you would like one and head over to your table.    They also have a snack counter where you can buy chips, crackers, dried squid or any other type of 7-11 food your little heart desires.
Picture
When you are all done put your empties in the bucket on your table, head over to the counter with bucket in hand and pay!  How fun is that?!
How can you NOT love this country?

Pier 17

7/7/2013

Oh my goodness, a little Louisiana in Korea.
Picture
Even though Pier 17 is not on a pier, but in a posh upscale little area near the Sinsa subway station, it is a gem of a find!
My girlfriend Beth has been wanting to try Pier 17 for MONTHS now so when we were discussing what do for our next date night we remembered....PIER 17!!!
And we are SO GLAD we did!
Even before we ordered we were totally digging this place. They deliver a cute little box to your table with napkins, gloves, wet napkins, hot sauce, forks, knives, spoons and they deliver a nice little bucket to put your leftover shells in, but when it arrives at your table it is filled with these groovy little scissors.  Way better than crab crackers.
Picture
I'm not going to mention any names, but someone had a hard time figuring out how to use these groovy little tools....we were a bit afraid he was going to take off a finger.  :o)    Notice his gloves?  Yea, that's the way we roll.
Picture
Pier 17 has an oyster bar...you can get fried oysters, baked, oysters Rockefeller (but they were green!), raw (when in season) or au gratin.   The fried were HEAVENLY.  Maybe it is because I haven't been eating much fried food lately, or maybe it is because they were DELICIOUS.
Picture
When you go, you must order a  SHARK ATTACK just for the pure fun of it.
9,000 won for a big 'ol blue margarita where a shark pukes red bloody (grenadine) goodness into your drink.
The drinks are sweet, but tasty.
Just as a side note:
Hubby ordered a Hurricane, everyone at the table except myself liked the Hurricane better than the Shark Attack.
But the Shark attack was way more fun! :o)
Picture
The oyster's Rockefeller were simply OK.  Not my favorite....they look cool when they came out, but alas save your money on these, a little on the bland side even with the green breadcrumb mixture.
Picture
The star of the show was the crawfish boil.
YUM-O.
The seasonings were RIGHT ON.
All the seafood was cooked perfectly.
Nothing was overcooked or soggy.
I couldn't believe they got it right.
The only thing that could have made this better is if Hubby had not eaten all the bread.
We had nothing to sop up the juices with.
Picture
Great dinner, super fun night.
We ordered a party set for 79,000 won which was more than enough to feed the 4 of us.
It included, fried oysters, oysters Rockefeller, jambalaya and the crawfish boil....I feel like there was something else that came with it, but I can't remember right now.
Picture
The aftermath....
Picture
And just a little something to make you smile. :o)
Picture
To get there:
Sinsa Station exit 8.  Walk straight to Garosu-gil street - take a left.
Go one block (I think it is just 1 block, mabye 2 ) to Apgujeong-ro 8-gil street.
TURN LEFT.
Picture
Go to the 1st intersection and Pier 17 will be on your right....you actually need to turn the corner and it is RIGHT THERE.  Go up to the 2nd floor.
Picture
Address:

Bim Bom Natural Kitchen & Cafe

3/25/2013

Last Sunday Hubby and I had a date morning since we missed our weekly Saturday night date. I had researched a couple of places and it was a toss up between Pancake Story and Butterfinger Pancake.  We picked Pancake story based on distance and good solid driving directions.  It is just too bad that when reading reviews I did not notice that Pancake Story is CLOSED on Sundays.  BUMMER!  So we did what any good couple would do, we walked down the street about 3 store fronts till we found Bim Bom Natural Kitchen and Café:
Picture
And just our luck, they have Best Brunch!
(Even though I wasn't sold at this point...I had spied a little Vietnamese place down the street that was calling my name, however Hubby was pretty set on eating a traditional breakfast - I could have had a bowl of Pho and called it breakfast and lunch :.)
Picture
Once we were inside any thoughts I have of Pho went out the window and I was pretty sure I was going to love this place.
We ordered the Bim Bom's Special Plate for 42,000 won:
Picture
AND LOOK HOW CUTE it is!
It came out on this 3 tier cake plate.
Mostly because it had to, our table was *tiny*, as were all the tables.
I think the restaurant sat MAYBE 15 people comfortably.
Picture
This was my FAVORITE!!
Before sunrise crepe.
HEAVEN.
Crispy crepe on bottom, bacon, over-medium egg with fresh arugula and the perfect amount of balsamic glaze.
Picture
My second favorite and close runner up was the Eggs Norwegian.
Picture
And the Fruit French Toast won Hubby's vote.
Korean style Milk bread French toast cooked till the edges are a little crisp with sautéed strawberries and bananas, toasted almond slivers, drizzled with strawberry syrup and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
You really can't go wrong with that.
Picture
This is a great little place where they cook everything fresh to order and if you sit as close as we did you can watch them make it all for you.  :o)
Picture
Bim Bom is open 7 days a week:
Mon-Sat 9AM-10PM
Sun - 9AM - 6PM

To drive here from post:
Exit Commissary gate - turn left
Stay right -
Turn right onto Itaewon Street
Turn left on Daesagwan-ro - this street has a light.  (You will be going through a street with many lights and lots of people walking - near Hannam Village)
Come to the end of the street and turn left onto Dokeseodang-ro  (you will go under a highway of sorts- Hannam-daero and straight across)
Right after you go under Hannam-daero  Bim Bom will be on your left about 3 or 4 stores in...Pancake Story is on the corner then you will see Banana Grill and then Bim Bom.
(Dr. Sung's office is right across the street.)

Yum Thai is YUM-O!

I was at a PCE (Perfect Custom Experience - more on them later!) event when one of the PCE guys heard me talking about Thai food in Seoul.   I was talking about my favorite Thai restaurant in Seoul so far, My Thai in Itaewon which I can't believe I haven't blogged about yet...what is wrong with me?

Anyway, he told me about another place that he thought was better than My Thai - - Yum Thai!  Really, Yum Thai?  I can't imagine it being any better than My Thai, because My Thai is pretty darn authentic.   This is when he told me that the chef from My Thai worked with the chef from Yum Thai to develop his menu.  He also told me that the Yum Thai chef travels to Thailand every few months to get ingredients.    I was totally sold so I grabbed a bunch of friends and headed out to have a little Thai food.

Singha is the only way to start a Thai meal.
Picture
I have one friend that doesn't drink beer so we ordered her the only 'mixed drink' available, a bottle of Thai booze.  This is the way they roll in Korea - you order an entire bottle instead of individual drinks - it is SO MUCH cheaper this way.
Picture
Picture
As the food started arriving it was hard to get pictures of it because as soon as it hit the table it was GONE!   Don't my friends know I need to take pictures?  I did manage to get a picture of one lonely little chicken wing:
Picture
They were very good....just enough spice and the perfect amount crisp!
We also ordered spring rolls (no pictures...) and crab balls (pictured below) I don't remember eating crab balls in Thailand, but they were AMAZING here in Seoul!

Sorry for the blurry picture, but Buddy was moving them towards is mouth as I was trying to snap a shot!
Picture
My Spicy Beef Salad was TO.DIE.FOR.
I had to stop several times for my mouth to cool.
PERFECT HEAT.
Picture
Hubby ordered the Tom Kah Kai - HOLY HEAVEN.
My mouth is watering just looking at it.
It had the perfect amount of FRESH galangal & lemon grass.
I was instantly taken back to Thailand.
Picture
This is a picture of the Green Curry with chicken.
Perfection.
The curry.
Not the picture.
Blurry picture again.
Sorry.
(Why do I feel compelled to point out the blurry pictures? Maybe because I was totally off this night?  Who knows.  Did I mention I fell in a hole?  True story. No, I had not been drinking.)
Picture
If you have ever been to Thailand and you are looking for that place that will take you back without buying a ticket, head over to Yum Thai!  Great food, great staff, great beer, the only thing that would have made it better is if there had been sand in between my toes and the prices were true "Thai" prices.
But I guess that is asking for a little too much.  :o)
Picture
I ask the waiter to take our picture...he cut out half of us....bummer.
To get there by subway:
Line 3
Sinsa Station -   Exit 1
Walk straight for 4 blocks (I'm counting all cross streets as blocks!)
After the 4th street look to your right and you will see Yum Thai on your right.
(A big tower name J-Tower is on the left side of the street directly across from Yum Thai.)

02-594-7988
They accept reservations
When we went (Saturday night 7PM) the place was PACKED and on a wait - I was thankful we made reservations!

Brooklyn Burger

2/14/2013

Holy Mother of all Things Good.
Picture
A few weeks ago Hubby mentioned that he wanted a 'really good burger' and then he ate at Burger King.  My poor sweet husband - craving a hamburger so bad he settled for BK.  It was at that moment I knew my next quest was to find my man a good burger in Seoul. It would prove to be a challenge, but a challenge that I was up for.

I ask a few people - looked on line a little and it wasn't until I was in the commissary and saw a lady that I thought I knew but wasn't sure how I knew her but I always smile & nod at her when I see her -  on this day after the smile/nod combo  she walked up to me  and said "Hi, you are Trish, right?"  It wasn't until that moment that I realized we had never met in person.  It turns out she was here in Korea the last time I was AND we have 33 mutual friends on Facebook.  We have been in each others news feeds for over 4 years but never met in person.  Anyway, I'm not sure how it happened (but I'm pretty certain you can thank my 'gift of gab') but she ended up telling me about Brooklyn Burger.  She was raving about the burgers, fries and shakes - something about Nutella & toasted marshmallows....I was IN!  So today, Friday in Korea time, Hubby has a day off so we jumped in the car and headed to Brooklyn Burger to get my man his fix.
We almost missed it because it is tucked away at the bottom of a street in the corner.
And it is *tiny*!
There is only seating for about 23-30
people.
And it was JAM PACKED!
Picture
I must admit I wasn't totally excited about eating a BURGER in Korea and I *almost* suggested to Hubby that we go to the Mackerel Lady instead.  I mean I just wasn't feeling it.
Until...
We opened the door and the smell of hamburgers, REAL hamburgers begin fried up on a grill hit my nostrils.
It was at that moment my mouth started watering, my stomach started growing and I was instantly taken back to when I was 10 years old and entering Mr. Frosty's, an awesome little burger joint in my home town.
Picture
There wasn't even kimchi on the menu!
At this point I am hoping all my scenses are right and I have found Burger Utopia.
AND THEN...
I saw this....
Picture
Dr. Pepper.
IN KOREA.
In a restaurant.
All the stars are lining up.
Keeping my fingers crossed that it is as good as it smells.

Not only do they have Dr. Pepper, but they also have this:
Picture
What is that you ask?
Looks  like onions on a plate to you?
Look again.
It is a FULL SIZE napkin.
FULL SIZE.
BETH, are you reading this?
FULL SIZE NAPKIN!!

I think I've died and gone to burger heaven.
They even have the cool Coca-Cola glasses.
And she brought out 2 straws.
I felt like I stepped into the 50's for a moment.
(Not that I would know what the 50's really feels like.)
Picture
Hubby and I ordered the Brooklyn Works burger.  He ordered the 7 oz, I ordered the 5 oz.  Both of us ordered with their 'special sauce' on the side.  We also ordered 1/2 an order of fries, diet coke (they didn't have diet DP - that would be asking WAY too much), and a Nutella with Burnt Marshmallow Shake.
Picture
Burnt Marshmallows
This shake was perfect. Vanilla ice cream with Nutella mixed in and burnt marshmallows on top.  Not too sweet and not to much chocolate and the straws in Korea, they always give you BIG FAT straws when you order something thick.
Picture
Hello Beautiful. I'm going to duplicate you at home and my kids are going to be so excited to meet you. :o)
The 5 oz Brooklyn Works Burger.
If you live in the states you may think this just looks like another burger.
If you live in Korea, you know it is not.
Picture
And the fries....
So hot
so crispy
 so perfect.
Picture
And I can't forget to mention their special sauce for the burger.  I don't really care for sauce on my burgers, but their sauce was so good for dipping French fries in!  It was a mayo - horseradishie - goodness.

These weren't ours, but I snapped a picture of them before they went to their table.
My kids would LOVE these.
Picture
In summary, if you are living in Korea and you are craving a good burger then RUN, don't walk to the Brooklyn Burger.  (OK, take a cab or drive there - I saw a subway but I can't tell you how to get there from it and it looked like quite the trek.)  You are sure to leave with a happy tummy.

As with all things in Korea it is a little more pricy to eat here than stateside - burgers ran between 9,000 & 13,000 won.  The total price for both of us was 32,500 won.  But TOTALLY worth it.  I have a feeling we will be back very soon.
Driving directions from the commissary gate:
Turn right out of the gate.
Go across the Banpo Bridge.
Keep straight on the Banpo road - when the road splits (up/down) near the Express Bus terminal, stay UP - left hand lanes.
Right before you get to the big library on your right, and I mean RIGHT BEFORE you will see this sign:
Picture
Turn RIGHT, right now!!  It doesn't look like you should turn right, but just do it anyway!!
You will be on the left side of the library.
Go to the end of this very narrow alley and turn LEFT.
Follow this road downhill - very narrow.
Keep your eyes open as you go around a very small curve Brooklyn is on your left.
If you blink you will miss it.
If you are driving - right after Brooklyn turn right and then an immediate left,  a paid parking garage will be on your left.
It only cost us 1,500 won to park here.
To leave - Turn left out of the parking garage, go down this VERY NARROW street a few blocks until you come to a bigger street - you will see Paris Croissant - turn right - when you get to the end - a big intersection with a light turn RIGHT.  Get in the left hand lane and turn left when you get to the BIG road with the signs to the Banpo Bridge, then you are home free.

They are open from 11:30Am -21:30
Closed on Mondays
551-32 1F Banpo-Dong Seocho-Gu Seoul
Phone: 02-533-7180
I couldn't leave without taking a picture of this sign:

Korean Movie Theater, Part 2, CVG Gold Class

1/31/2013

When I start something new there is no stopping me.
I go to a Korean movie theater, I want to try them all.
AND when I see something that says "Gold Class" and the price tag for that movie is 30,000 won per person - well, I am intrigued to say the least.
In fact I was so intrigued that I bugged & begged Hubby to go to a 10:55PM movie with me just so we could try it out.
True Story.
10:55PM - That is in the evening folks - AKA - NIGHTTIME!
For those of you that know me you know this is well past my bedtime.
By the way, curfew for American soldiers that live on post is 1AM.
That's right you heard it directly from me - my 40 something Army officer of a husband has a CURFEW!
Crazy I know.

Anyway after a few minutes (he will say it was hours, but truly it was like 5 minutes) of me bugging him and calculating the time trying to convince him that he would be in on time and if not we could stay at our friends house if we didn't make it to the gate on time - he finally caved - like any good husband would do (anything to make me stop talking!)

For those of you that live here, you are going to thank me for being the guinea pig.

We bought our tickets on line here.
And we went a little early to figure it all out.
We picked our tickets up in the VIP line.
We got a super nice black envelope that held our receipt and we were directed upstairs to the VIP area.
This is the VIP lounge.
Very nice.
We totally felt like VIPs.
Picture
Only the 'cool' can enter.
Picture
Once we were seated in the lounge our waitress brought over a menu and ask us if we would like our complimentary snack and drinks now or when the movie began.  Here is the menu:
Picture
They also have another menu.  You can have lunch or a light dinner.  Prices were pretty average.  You can even order a bottle of wine for the movie if you so choose.

Hubby lounging in the lounge:
Picture
If you are in the lounge early, when it is time for your movie to start they come get you.

Inside the theater there is not a bad seat in the house.
Each set of 2 chairs have a little table with a buzzer to call the waitress.  I believe you only have waitress service for about the first half hour of the movie.

Here is a sample of the complimentary snacks and drinks you get.
A bowl of nuts,  an egg tart each and a drink of your choice.
However you cannot get soda and popcorn.
If you want that you need to go downstairs and get that yourself.
(We did - what is a movie without soda and popcorn?  Come on now!)
Picture
What you are really paying for are the chairs.
The super comfy reclining chairs.
AND they will bring a blanket to you if you ask.
So, if you are at a REALLY late movie (say like a 10:55PM movie) and it is really boring, you might just be spending 30,000 won for a nap.
Good thing the movie we saw was NOT boring and I stayed awake the entire time.
(In case you are wondering we saw The Impossible - great flick based on a true story about the tsunami in Thailand back in 2004 - kind of hit home for us - we were in the same area of Thailand 5 years later, same dates, on vacation celebrating Christmas, 3 boys, they were missing a girl...anyway bring LOTS of tissues.)
Picture
All in all Hubby and I had a great movie experience.
Was it worth 30,000 won per person?
I think not.
If you are dating and you are trying to impress your date, do it.
Dive in and get the "Gold Class" package.
Arrive early, enjoy the lounge.
Oh, and you should probably spring for a nice bottle of vino too.

And yes, Hubby and I made it back to the gate with 10 minutes to spare.

***New location as of 5/25/1013 - information at bottom of post.***
I am just going to claim it.
Rest With Coffee & Books is my hands down FAVORITE café I have been to so far.
I loved EVERYTHING it had to offer.
Books, internet service, a computer for people to use, comfy chairs, FREE bread and coffee, nice background music, waffles, coffee drinks of all kinds, gelato and of course, Dr. Fish to chew the nasty off your feet.

The main room:

Need a book?  They have bookshelves full.
They were all in Korean, so if you can't read Korean then bring your own book.
Picture
Self bar.
Gotta love it.
Picture
At the self bar you can have all the free bread and coffee you can eat and drink.
As long as you order 1 item from the menu.
They even have toaster ovens to toast your bread
AND
They give you butter and jam when you place an order at the counter.

Sampling of the free bread:
It taste better than it looks.

Girl said the hot chocolate is THE BEST she has EVER HAD.
In fact it was so good that she ordered a second one.
She told me that she wishes she could make hot chocolate this good.
Give her time and I'm sure she will.
Picture
She is just so cute I couldn't help snapping a ton of pictures of her.
Picture
Don't worry, I'm not posting all the photos I took, only a few of my favorites.
Picture
She really is this sweet too.  She is a great daughter and sister to her brothers.
Plus she has an amazing heart.
Picture
I tried something new, a cinnamon honey latte.  It was very YUM.
Picture
I'm not sure if I have told you this or not, but Koreans are WILD about waffles.
Just not for breakfast - they don't want them for breakfast.
They only want them for dessert.
Picture
When girl and I were finished warming our souls and filling our bellies we were ready to dip our feet in a tank of little fishies to get our 'poor mans' pedicure.
Picture
First the lady comes over and washes your feet off.
Picture
And then it is time to dip your feet!
Picture
Ahhh, sweet little fishies.  This is no big thang.  We have done this before.  It tickles, but it is a good tickle.
Picture
And then....we decided to switch tanks.
OH MY GOODNESS.
I have NEVER seen Dr. Fish this BIG!
And ready...with mouths OPEN WIDE!
Picture
Sticking my heel in.
Picture
Oh my goodness.  This TICKLES and FREAKS me out a bit!
But I think I can do it....
Picture
...I only lasted for a little while before I had to take a breather....
I mean check them out.
Savages.
I'm kind of afraid they will take off a toe.
Girl doesn't want to have anything to do with this tank.
Picture
Going in again.
This time all the way.
Picture
OH MY GOSH...
Picture
This is really FREAKY!!
AND TICKLISH!
Picture
I can't take it much longer!!
Picture
Feet out.
Relaxing.
Picture
Oh my gosh ~ that was crazy fun!
UPDATE as of 5/25/2013
NEW LOCATION:
Picture
***I went to the new location.  It is not nearly as nice as the old location and the big fish are gone.  They only have the little fish.  They still have food - sandwiches, coffee, pastries and beer.  Still a fun girls day out.  :o)***

We spent about 18,000 won on a latte, a hot chocolate, a chocolate waffle and 2 doctor fish.

There hours are 10AM-midnight everyday.
Credit cards are accepted.

I hope you have as much fun as Girl and I.

I think this would be an awesome place to have a date night.

Hi, I'm Trish, the writer, creator and photographer of this blog.  I started this blog for 2 reasons, 1 - When I found out we were moving to Korea back in 2008 I was a little freaked out and started scouring the internet for information on Korea. At that time there wasn't much out there so I am doing my part in helping families across the world not be so freaked out when it comes time to move to Korea.  The 2nd reason I started this blog was to help stay connected to family members back in the states.  Today it is so much more that.
I hope you enjoy our journey.

Are you moving to Korea?  Do you have questions, concerns?  Are you freaking out?   Freak out no further -  click the button to ask a question.  I'll do my best to answer open and honestly.
